Inquiring minds are bored----
Actaully, the data from data bouy 44017 (23 miles SW of Montauk) indicate it was about 5' seas all day on thanksgiving. I can't find anything from the Hudson though.
The story does raise an eyebrow though--- stranger things have happened.
Kind of accademic at this point.
Some pics would be pretty cool though.
I have a question---- Would anyone here run all the way to a NE Canyon (in late November no less) based on a single internet report from someone they don't even know, nor heard of?
I don't know if the story is real or not, and don't really care, but I am reminded of a True Story here on SFC:
In the very early days of SFC, some guy posted up pics of some really big yellowfins (as I recall 150-200 lb class) he said he caught on a recent trip somewhere. He wrote a fishing report about how good his recent fishing trip was, yada, yada, yada. People responded with the backs slaps---- WTG, Nice Fish, etc. Then someone said-- "this is BS, I just saw those exact pictures in a West Coast local rag" (or something to that effect).
The original poster was determined to not be called out as a bullshit artest and defended himself by saying he "accidently hit the wrong button on his computer, but here are the real pictures from my recent trip." An entirely new set of pics were then posted.
Almost immediatly, a SFC member posted--- " Hey, that guy in the photo is ME and I caught those fish 2 years ago in such an such place. Who are you and how did you get a hold of my pictures?" ( I think what happened is the real angler sent an email to a buddy who then must have posted them somewhere in the internet)
The whole thing was funnier than hell.
