I have a pair, i used them all last year.

There good gloves, lightweight, and theyll protect youre hands.

Problems i had with them were;

They held in stink, after a couple of trips and after some washings they still stunk.

and they fray pretty easy, mine have got all kind of frays in the matieral.
Not to mention they are pretty dam expensive

This year i think im going to get a good pair of lifting gloves for the YFT and mahis.

i just got a pair of welding gloves for the MR. BLUESUIT himself/ GBFT....

Hope this helps.

I had a pair and thought they were ok at first, then they started to fall apart and really stink. I even washed them every night. They lasted about a month, then I went back to old yellow gloves. For when the big blue dog comes around I have a special pair of leather gloves with the yellow ones on top.

Hey John,
I've also got a pair of these gloves. I've also got a pair of the less expensive full fingered gloves as well (can't remember the name). I only break out the Wire Max gloves on bluefins, blue marlin, or when I've got a really long wire leader. I love them! If you use them alot though, they do begin to stink as the others said. My other pair smelled like ass since I used them to grab jacks, cudas, and groupers on charters. I like them since they're lightweight and the velcro wrist strap keeps mono from grabbing on the back of the gloves. The padding (feels almost like kevlar) is also in the right places to keep from getting cut up through the gloves. If I'm not mistaken Aftco bought Bluefever a while back so they may be listed under Aftco.

The gloves that PELAGIC make seem to hold up better.

If you want a pair of good heavy duty gloves,I got the best pair I've ever had from Matthew's shoe repair in Morehead City,NC. By far the best heavy duty marlin,GBFT gloves I've ever used. I was looking at the Wire Mak gloves for sails,whites, and wire wahoo leaders. Thanks for all the replies,I might go ahead and get a pair to have anyway. Can't hurt.
