    Angry Blue Sharks Suck

Been scouting looking for some sign of the cobalt missiles that should be here. This season though has been one of long stupid and blunt ones rather than the pointed pleasure makers. Yesterday was no different. Big ugly snakes tearing up perfectly good mako rigs.
Bad enough that they eat my mustads and malin wire but yesterday's last fish got an added treat... Mind you I have been miffed at Manley pliers back slide in quality compnents for a couple years now but damnit, the pair I had were MY MANLEY PLIERS!!!
So there I am. Being sugarry sweet and trying to let about 200lbs of shit eater go with as little wire attached to him as possible. Does he accept this gesture of kindness?

    Nooooooooo!

I go to snip and the ungrateful ******* goes and tries to eat my hand. My fingers cleared its maw before the teeth came tight but my Manleys weren't so lucky. He ate my f*****g pliers...

I have some off brand ones for the time being but I miss that pair already... If somebody catches him and gets my pliers back I'd really like them back... I'm offering a box of Entenmans Chocolate donuts as a reward...

We know your pain C, try using the long version of the ARC dehooker, we've had about a 50/50 shot with them. Beats rerigging all the time.

After losing 4 hooks to the blue dogs and having to do the re-rig deal three weeks ago, I bought an arc de hooker. I couldn't find the cool looking one with aftco shaft - I bought the one just smaller than the mega hugemongous model.

I'm sure I'll never need it now, or old butterfingers will send it to the bottom.

I have a 6 foot model Arc De-Hooker and it is terrific. Gets the hook back a good percentage of the time. At $5/hook this adds up, not to mention the time it saves and what it does for the sharks (who get to swim away without hook and trailing leader).

Could not recommend more strongly that anyone who shark fishes gets a De-Hooker - you will use it 10 times as much as the fly gaff.

    the big arc's are great

you need o crimp on a small high density float on them though so they will float if you drop them or a shark knocks it out of your hands. worth every penny to not loose your hooks

No problem with the Arc concept but tough to look cool and intimidating on the dock with one in a holster on the hip...

I'm 30-40 hooks deep on the season. Probably go that route some where along the line. Could use em when the dolphin get out of control in the islands too.

No tackle shops on the north end to get manleys so I'll be running spares for the tourney this week... Headed out now... I feel naked.
