Blue Marlin bait

I always see and hear we set this or thats lure out for a Blue Marlin mixed into our tuna spread. It always seem to me that the Marlin never hit's that bait, he took a dink on a TLD30 . What lures or bait do you normally run and location in the spread. I usually run a Black Bart Slant on one of my flat lines and normally run a pro jet in the shot gun. Just want hear the different idea's and what works for you and do you get your targeted species on the correct bait and rod set in your spread for a Blue Marlin

Put a blue and white Islander with a horse bally on a short rigger and they will come.

I second what whitey said. Cant beat the proven blue/white ilander with a horse bally. Also most the boats in the dominican and puerto rico use 30's and they catch many of them. Take a look at squidnations post about the bandolera the caught like 20 blues out of the dominican republic on 30lb test.
I am not saying troll super chuggers off of 30's but if they can catch them on 30's so can you.

yes we use 30 a lot in PR. 30 is good, 50 better but not by much. too heavy for a long battle. also you wont loose with the blue islander. the pink one works good also, with 12/0 really sharp...
