Blue Marlin Are Back In St. Thomas

Perhaps they never left after the Sept. moon world class fishing.( over 350 blue marlin releases )Friday 9/25... Cutnail(Bobby Brown) was 5 for 7. Producer(Rob) 4 for 9. Freedom (Dominic) 2 for 10. Chach 3 for 6. Sharkey's Revenge(Freddie) 2 for 6.Producer is 11 for 26 in 4 days and had 8 double header blue marlin bites in last 2 days.
Lots of great boats available...Prime Time, Marlin Prince, Loaner and others. Easy flights to St. Thomas and just maybe the fishing trip of a life time.

She was released on the Reel Tight 9-28-2009 at the North drop St. Thomas.
OK Roddy, James,Fred,Bart, et.al. guess the weight. Reel Tight is an 80' Merritt with huge cockpit.

JFT,

Thank you for putting me in with the real experts, but when it comes to marlin weights, I'm no pro. We let 'em all go, including one that was the biggest black or blue (it was a blue one) that I ever saw. Everybody, including my crew, kept asking me, "How much did she weigh?" and my answer was, "I dunno. All I know is she was a HFM (Huge uh, umm, oh yeah Female Marlin.")

I called marlin "Little", "Regular", "Big FM" and the aforementioned HFM. I have only seen a few of the latter in all of my years of fishing.

As far as that one in the picture, taking into consideration the size of the gorillas in the 'pit and the distance from them down to the fish in a boat that size, I'd call that one a HFM for sure! Beautiful, big fish, she was! Good to learn that she swam free. Catching her and knowing that she was released was a lot more important to me than what some scale said.

Beauty!
