The old man with the Hammer was Herb Gordon , My God I met him as a young boy & remember him being featured in Fin Magazine ( Old Publication ) He used a remote controlled boat (Ray-O-Vac ) to run his baits out with ! Caught some large Hammers & Giant Stingrays ( one over a thousand pounds )not to mention others! Use to land base shark fish as a young man myself back when shark clubs were the craze! Lots of fun ! hope the tourney goes well !!! Good luck to all who fish it !

Blacktip Hunter , I do not have any photo's of him . I never did fish with him , I was real young at the time , what interested me so much was the remote control boat he used Later on in life I remember reading about him in Fin Magazene. I will see if my friend down in Fla still has the books , if so I will send them your way ! I believe he was fishin on the East coast of Fla .? Herb was deffinately a pioneere of Land based Shark fishin ! Also the Fred Hall pier( Texas ) back in the day gave up some true monsters !!!! Great way to fish ! Sorry for ramblin on !!!!
