Black Magic found

According to another site the 32' Black Magic was found 120 miles east of Atlantic City. All aboard are fine. It seems the boat had medanical issues and where adrift. The CG helicpter was staying with the boat until the CG cutter arrives. Thank God..


ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard has found six boaters missing since Sunday alive and well on their disabled boat about 120 miles off the New Jersey coast.

Search and rescue teams are hovering around the Black Magic and preparing to bring the men aboard rescue helicopters or boats.

The Coast Guard's David Umberger says the boat was found by searchers around 7:15 p.m. Monday.

just imagine the anxiety and uncertainity experienced by the crew......and what a relief to hear a USCG helo hovering above....great ending to what could of been a disasterous outing...

i was at work tonite listening to alot of the pon pons over the radio and finally heard the response from the coast gaurd that the" black magic" was in radio range of a coast gaurd unit,and was being assisted, black magic from what i heard was using a hand held to talk to the coast gaurd i was unable to pick up there side of the transmissions but good lesson here always have a handheld near by or in a ditch bag,hope there home now with there familys great job by the coast gaurd AGAIN

I read in the paper today that they had an E-pirb on the boat. May I ask why they didnt activate it? If they were disabled and adrift why not send out the signal that tells them where you are? You know, you dont need to sink to turn it on.

Since I cant get an answer being polite, I'll ask another way.
I heard they turned on their e-pirb when they were drifting, how come the coast guard is too stupid to find them. What a bunch of paper pushing jackass' they seem to be. You could close all the coast guard stations, it wouldnt matter. All they do is get up early and walk a straight line.
