    Saturday 6-5

Game plan today was play with the gaffers if they'd cooperate and then go on the hunt for a blue marlin.

Well it didn't make 10am before we accomplished both! Lines in at 7:15 after some spotlight issues but we made it and the fleet all piled on top of each other first thing. All things considered, we had a good morning with non stop bites but a lot of spit hooks and short bites on the smaller dolphin, oh well. Put 5 gaffers in the box quick and at 9:30 it happened. There were some billfish in the area and we got our shot when the teaser ripped out while we weren't looking. Thought it could be a white since one was just caught next to us so we dropped the dink baits back. When we saw the fin come up on the short shotgun, we quickly reeled the small stuff back in.

Hooked up blue marlin! This fish was mean and took a lot of line before we got everything under control. We settled in and 25 minutes later had the 400 pounder at the boat. Not much action in the afternoon as we pulled very big baits, but did get a couple nibbles. Good day, hope the action stays hot!
