avenger is the man, thanks for a great reply

the rubber part is a check

the methanol part scares me as there are no watch dogs with the biodiesel made in costa rica, is there a tester for the %

we run 5 days a week so no worries for sittin to long

it is 30% more expensive at this point so that hurts but still am interested

thanks again for all the input

    mike

Thanks Mike, I'm glad I could help.

There is a way to test for alcohol in fuel. You take a measured sample, let's say 100cc, then add a measured amount of water like 20cc. Stir gently then let it sit. The water should settle out of the mixture. If you show more than 20cc of water at the bottom then the water has absorbed alcohol. This test works well with petroleum fuels, but might be a little iffy with Bio-Diesel since it will try to absorb the water. The best I can tell you is, give it a try.

You probably don't have Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel in Costa Rica but blending a little Bio into that stuff seems to be working well here. It cures a lot of the ills of ULSD. Particularly lubricity issues.

One other thing I just remembered: I've been told that filters with "Aqua-block" treated paper turn to mush in Bio-Diesel. RACOR used to use it but I think they've changed their paper. So just make sure you're using the latest stuff.

Good luck, and if you do try this out, please let us know how you do.
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
