Billfishing in Isla Mujeres

New to the site and man is there a lot of great info! Was wondering if I could get some help? The wife and I went marlin fishing at the beginning of the month in Cabo and needless to say we are HOOKED!!!! Looking for info for Isla Mujeres in May for our 1 year wedding anniversary- charters, places to stay, eat, etc. Any help would greatly be appreciated!!!! Cheers!

go back to Cabo! kidding...but thats where I go. I think the white marlin are pretty good at isla in May, probably still some sails around. someone who knows much more about that side will chime in. How did you do in Cabo? Who did you fish with?

Fished with Pisces. Went 4 for 5 on stripped the first day and 1 for 1 on the second - had a blast - planning on going back in October - any suggestions on other charters or places to stay?

My favorite place to stay in Isla is CabanasMaria del mar. It is on the north side of the island right on th beach next to the swing bars. The swing bars is a row of three bars that has swings for seats. great place to relive the day or just lull the lay day away.

I have never fished there in may but I understand there is a great mixed bag available and calm seas to boot. Capt Gary Stamm will probably still be there in may as well as Capt Rick. I will PM you some info on these guys.

I second Squid. I was at the same hotel in January and it was very enjoyable. Cervezas right there, resturantes around the corner and bonita mujeres en la playa!!!

I would definately eat at the restaurant Bamboo, accoustic guitar and great food. We fished on the Swordfish (www.swordfish-obx.com) with Justin Ringer. I don't know when they are bringing the boat back this year, but they usually stay for the Masters Tournament.

If you can fish with the guys Squidnation is referring to, DO IT. you will have a great time--good fishermen & boat.

i think im going to start my own tackle company. just so i can go away as much as you do. i think ill steal something from chuck richardson at tournament cable. he has so much, he'll never miss it. then i'm going to get a list of your plane ticket's, cut it in half.....and i bet i still dont see winter in the north east. what do you think about me doing a spreader bar? has that been done? two things i cant take anymore. winter, and you talking about where you have been. tell me, do they have a pool?
