Big Showing in Puerto Rico Wahoo Tournament

Hot off the email...My buddy just got back from fishing The Club Nautica De Guayama Wahoo Tournament in Puerto Rico...everyone there slow trolls for Wahoo...The plan was to be the only boat High Speed Trolling in the 90+ boat tournament...No knowledge of fishing location...only one day to prefish....just trying to capitalize on high speed vs slow speed for the winning edge...and some hot lures too.

END RESULT...2nd place overall finish and 1st place big fish for the tournament...missed out of 1st by a couple of lbs.

    Gotta love it!!!

Wow! Big congrats to the crew and you and your lures, Anthony!

I clearly recall back when you started and a lot of people thought you were nuts at first. "Wahoo catching up to lures at 18-20 knots? Har, har, har!"

You prevailed, many have added high speed to their arsenals and have caught a lot of fish (not just wahoo, either) and won a pile of tournament money in the process.

You are a breath of fresh air in this often contentious and copying instead of innovating business. We need more like you around. I respect the hell out of you and what you have accomplished and am proud that we are friends! (I'm still gonna troll some WahooBars at times, though !)

    Waytago!

    "Har, har, har" my arse!

(Hope you don't mind...here's one of mine...they work pretty good too. Har, har, har! Hmm, where have I heard that before? )

Thanks for the kind words...Its funny how many can't believe you can catch fish at those speeds...The tournament director said my friend is the talk of the tournament/fleet...Other boats were taking pics of them and laughing at them going 18 kts down the ledge...They were baffled these guys made it to the winners circle...The day after the tournament about 50% of the fleet was out there trying to high speed troll.

    Gotta love it

    Happy Thanksgiving

    Speed KILLS!

Speed KILLS... always has and always will. Congrats to Anthony on yet another tournament placing on his very productive lures. He's one of the heardest working guys I know in the lure business, and is as humble as they come. Nice job buddy!
