I don't have a dog in this fight and I'll keep any and all of my opinions to myself.

But I will say that in offering up the above statement you should realize this fish probably would have done good to be 250. At 97" this was a little boy.

Alright, I will offer this single opinion. If they stuck a live fish after a 24 minute fight, then they did the ethical thing and brought it in to face the consequences.

Ya'll have a good one.........and watch how you accuse people of flaming or bashing people...in my view none of that has happened in this thread. Simply because you know who this captain is doesn't mean people are bashing him...I hate the term bashing.

Have a good one....and a big congratulations to Bak Bar! Very nice fellow that Montukie is.

From what I have gathered, and this is purely dock rumor, there was a problem with their measuring tape.

Big Al, Scott Steele, and the rest of the crew of the Topless are first class people, and like I have said before, mistakes happen.

As far as Capt. Alan Fields expertise as a fisherman goes, I do not know where to begin. He has been everywhere and done everything. and Yes I do know Al. and the rest of his family.

And since my expertise may come into question, check Wahoonbox's archives for Fields of Dreams.

If we got sent to court every time we came up 2" short, We'd all be in a world of hurt.

If it weren't a high profile event like Big Rock we probably wouldn't have heard much of it.

Another thing to keep in mind - when that fish was boated there was only 1 fish on the leader board - That fish even small could potentially have been worth $200K - Adrenaline and $$$ is a tough combination to fight.

    Not sure anymore

    2 inches????

2 inches my ass. they were 13 inches off. And their was a tape measure malfunction? I came up with better excuses in elementary school. Ya'lls excuses for your boy are pitiful. I hope it was an honest mistake and the cpt and crew live upto it. I can respect that more then some worthless ass excuses.
