Just got back from Venezuela fishing with brother Ron. Fishing was good the day before the tourney as we managed to catch 10 whites and a sail out of 12 bites. The tournament started an the fishing slowed alot. The first day we managed a slam which got us the daily and put us in first place. The second day wasn't much better as we caught 2 whites and a sail. A venezuelan boat moved into first with 3 Blue ones and a sail. After a little networking and sniffing him out we headed to a new spot, and man was it game on. We where behind by about 300 points and needed a big day. Well we had one, we caught 2 blue ones and 2 sails to seal the win. It was the 3rd one in a row in Venezuela and 4 out of 5 total. I managed to catch 3 blue marlin and 2 on the last day and got 2nd place angler, pretty cool stuff. The "Big Oh" has had a great year between St. Thomas and Venezuela, I couldn't be prouder of little brother.
By the way, no issues going or coming down there. Everything is safe, so don't believe the rumors. If you haven't been down there you better go, there is no place like it. We saw 4 Blue ones 4 sails and 2 whites the last day, and that was considered slow.
