Big Game Fishing in Brazil - Adrenalina Fishing

    Dear Friends and Fisherman.

The fishing is still great here on the Royal Charlotte Bank, with lots of blue marlin still around and a 903 lb marlin weighed here on the 18th of January.
There has been lots of dorado and amberjack being caught on the bank as well, with mostly calm days and that deep blue water that most of you are use to here.

The 1st of January Raimundo Brasil and his family were out fishing to try their luck on the first day of the year. Although the day was calm, unfortunately the kids were sea sick and we headed home not long after starting to fish; we managed to raised 1 nice blue around 500 lbs but no luck getting a bite and caught a bunch of dorado on the way back.

The 3rd saw Ken Berry and friends Brad from Kentucky USA and Doug Munro from Sao Paulo fishing for 4 days. The boys had some great fishing but not great catching. They raised 16 Blues in 4 days but only got 7 bites releasing 3.

The 12th Guy and Rosemary Luck were back for their annual fishing trip; they also had some great fishing and great catching. The first day out they raised 8 blues, had 5 bites and released 2. The second day out they only raised 1 blue but raised 4 sailfish and had 3 bites releasing 1. Rosemary also had 3 bites from Amberjacks on live Bonitos and managed to catch her first Amberjack that weighed 45 lbs. The third day they raised 3 Blue, had 3 bites and released 2, one around 600 lbs.

The 18th was a good day out for Guilherme and friends from São Paulo; they raised 4 blues, got 2 bites and released one around 400 lbs, also raised 2 Sailfish but pulled the hook on the one that attacked the lure.

The 23rd we fished Marcelo Claro owner of Pesca & Companhia, the fishing Magazine here in Brazil, and good friend Tuba were here to try their luck here on the Charlotte Bank. The first day out was looking for marlin, they raised 5 Blue and had 3 bites, the third stayed hooked and a nice blue jumped close to the boat and gave them some great action.

We released the blue, Marcelo’s largest so far around 600 lbs. The next day was for bottom fishing with Jigs and live tuna, they caught over 30 nice tuna, dorado, yellowtail, red snapper and amberjack. The final day was a mix of marlin and bottom fishing, with very little current we didn’t raise a marlin but caught some nice Amberjack and Dorado for the day.

Just getting started this season Adrenalina has fished 26 days, raising 121 blues, had 79 bites, released 41 and weight 1 at 774 lbs.
9 white marlin were raised this season, 2 bites, 1 released.
    11 sailfish raised, 7 bites, 4 released.

The 26th was first time game fishing for Mr. Anders and his wife Anne from Norway and Charlotte from Denmark, vacationing here in Canavieiras. The current had stopped so the marlin fishing was slow, they raised a nice blue but could not get the hook to stay in. later that day they caught some nice big eye tuna and 4 nice amberjack.

Hi Shawn, in Brazil and just finished fishing Rio and Cabo Frio. Was talking to Lucas whom I fish with and know well from the tournaments. He speaks highly of you and your operation. Good work mate and hope to meet you in Brazil on day. I believe Thiago is working there somewhere else , can you verify that they did indeed catch two big ones as I asked him and Pedro/Pepe for pics but he never provided them. Another Grander as you know came out of here and fishing was tough this year, rain, rough seas, and big winds.

Hey Shawn - good to hear from you. Wish we could have made it down again this year but time wouldn't permit. Sounds like all is well with the new boat. congrats.

    Shawn,

    Looks like great fishing.

Have you done alot of bank hopping down the atlantic coast of South America? Seems like there are alot of untouched waters, which could produce epic fishing.

Hows the commercial fishing pressure down there?

How about Yellowfin tuna, get many over 300lbs?

Great first post & report captain. Loved the pictures!
Interested to know more about your bottom fishing on the bank. Would love to see pictures of the red snapper you are referring to.
    Cheers,
