    Bait

What ya mean,,,, No bait at the canyons ?

Every trip i've takin to the canyons over the past 10 + years we've seen plenty of bait.... Skippies, squid ,trigger fish, half beaks, mimi mahi, and tons of other little critters ... Realized the menhaden/herring are on the decline in the NE ; but that's not a issue out wide IMHO!

Head east away from Block/Hudson canyons and you'll be rewarded with paydirt! NO-NO stay west.... lol

I'd hate to say this ...cause it may screw-up my karma, never ever have i got skunked at the canyons I was shutout once on the lake in front of the house, but didn't get a senko wet that day...

CatchemUp with live Seabass ...Whats a seabass

You know Jay, I was already to fish with you guys again this year, and you had to go and Jinx yourself...now I've gotta wait for that skunk to get off of the giant banana that Vin's boat just instantly turned into.

No worry's bro... I'll hit the pond, file down the barbs on my skinny water rig's; use 2# test, case of H-K's.... That should accomplish that goal bigtime...

I took a peak at the "i pull green machines profile" ... The grasshooper is 29 years young... figured i released my 1st marlin before he was 3 ... O'well ... one in every crowd....

Sometime ya just can't help rookies, I dunno man....

CatchemUp without green machines Try pulling real lures and watch out for all the bait

    Becareful Jay.... seabass are shappin!

last year when there was a break of like 7 degrees in 2 miles in the baltimore, we were looking for life so i put out a green white iland outrider on a hoo on the flatline 20 feet back. couple minute later. BAM! got him on, after like ten minutes i had him up and we could see him in the water! a sheerwater was chillin on the surface and would stick his head in and swim down and try and get the lure on the line. but anyways, in a split second he dumped the 50 we had him on. half spooled in like 2 minutes! after 2 hours my friend jeff popped him off! sucks the fish was most likely over 200.

and another thing. i was told to not let a fish get down to the thermocline, cuz its all impossible to get them out it!? is this true???

but other than that, i know that bigeyes like orange and green. and meat! and putting out a planer or a zwing doesnt hurt anything.

Dockrat, no worry's on thermal gig, try changing the angle with a few boat manuvers and lightin up on the drag a tad as a LAST RESORT, you'll get him up, be patient in the heat of the moment ! Easier said than done

Had 4 on and got two 6 or so years ago at Hydro , should of has all 4 ..it was a hoot, lost the 3rd on the leader on a cedar plug with a 7' trace... The fish was close to 300 and the POON man froze and didn't take the shot, the cedar went across the month and snap'o on the circle of death.... A release non-the same Shit does happen...

The fouth fish was a BAD Crimp on a Ilander /hoo that the owner wanted to get wet, my falt ..should have check it before he put it in the spread... I deeped sixed the rest of his lures to the salon for the rest of the trip! Can't understand why people insist on meat fishing when the fish tell ya something totally differnet... I dunno, that's fishin..

The other two were on a St. Thomas Prowler and Legend Enki

Catchemup on Legends.... i do .... Barts too! be happy to sell ya some
