Thanks guys! He was 68" and around 60 pounds. Maybe 65. He was fat and the Pictures truly do not do him justice. I wanted to release him since he was such a BADASS fish. But......The mate and the rest of my friends wanted and got fish! Caught another 40+pounder today and did release it. Just seems a little unnatural letting those big monsters go. But when you have one in the box you let them go. A few Marlin caught again today.

A fish was caught in July of 2001 on a boat named "El Budster" in Cabo San Lucas...The fish was a pending world record for some time...It measured 68" and weighed 90 pounds...The following year the fish was denied due to problems with the scale and was downgraded to 85 pounds and only awarded the men's 80 pound test record...The point I am trying to make is...Your fish is a frikkin STUD! At 68" I would say your estimated weight is a conservative one. Congrats and thank you for sharing the pics and story with us. Truly a beautiful specimen. I would rather catch that one than a Marlin. Keep up the pretty work.

We got one 72" last season. For sure 75 pounds. I have seen a few really big ones chasing flyers a few times. A few 80 pounders caught here every year. Thanks!
