BFT on the troll?
Just a quick question but for everyone fishing off of NJ and OCMD have you caught your BFT on the troll, jigging, or chunking? If you were trolling were the baits down deep or near the surface?

All of mine have been on the troll and all on the surface or just under.

We had everything on the troll this year either on top or about 8 ft under. We used 1 1/2 oz heads on the longs to get them down alittle. Your bigger fish are usually taken on a planer or downrigger due to the bait being 50ft or more down.
Jigging fish seems to take alot and some bigger fish so far this year |

chunk and jig.
right now you can catch fish on the early morning troll, but once day breaks, the troll bite shuts down.
the chunk and jig bite has been hot on the lumps along the 20 line, i'd plan on chunking and jigging.

All on the troll. Either on the planer or wwb.

Rojo, I think you nailed it.
The chunking fleet has not been hitting them nearly as hard as the jigs have. I have not tried jigging yet, but my 2nd mate/washboy is chomping at the bit to bring his jigging stuff. I think the jigs may be the ticket- no butters to deal with, pull up, mark em, drop the jigs and game on!!! But please note- I will troll til they stop getting taken on the troll than I will jig it up.
