    BFT Report OCMD 6/7

Fished just South of the Parking Lot yesterday in the soup in search of BFT.

Found clean water that went from 68.5 to 72.5 full of life to include hundreds of birds, acres of small tuna feeding on the surface and even saw a whale @40ft long (not sure of type)

Activity all day and ended up boating a 34" BFT, releasing a 42" BFT and catching several Bluefish 6 to 8lbs.

The BFT and Bluefish were full of sand eels.

Good day on the water, other than the fog and great way to breakin the new boat.

Hi ED, I fished that some area yesterday and we got one BFT then set up for sharks and went 8 for 15 on blues and one 105 lb Mako.

Every thing that hit the deck of the boat spit up hundres of sand eels. We must have seen a dozen of the whales you were talking about. That was a great way to kick of a season for us and a even better way to break in a new boat for you!!

Guys, I asked you on TF too, but i don't check that as much- what techinque were you employing for the tunas? Just curious if you were fast trolling or standard issue trolling.

    Good going on your tunas.

    Thanks

Nice report! I was north of you on the Hambone and could only manage bluefish. Lot's of sand eels in them though and I marked plenty of bait on the machine. Couple more weeks it will be on like donkey kong.

Franky, I gave you more detail on TF, but basic BFT spread.

3.5kts all day with WWWWB center and long riggers, then bars and plugs up close.

Bert - we were marking a lot of bait and a good bit on the bottom.
