    BFT report 7-13

OK here it is folks the report you been waiting for

Left the inlet at 2:30 and headed south towards massys was the plan. Russell hit the front seat and I took the helm. Got set up around 5 and had out first fish on by the 4th rod out. Ended up pulling the hook right at the boat so we MOB and turned around. Got the spread out and 5 mins later a 46 hits the deck. Got set back up and worked the area and ended up going 3-4 by 7 and the bite slowed so i made the call to move. Got set back up and 20 mins later the 50 starts screaming. I knew it was a bigger fish than the ones before. Well a hour or so goes by and we get it boat side. Well it wasn't the easiest of things to leader while fighting a fish so someone can gaff it. I did it and he sinks the first gaff and I cme up and gaff it with the second. Pull it in the boat and measures out at 62".

Didn't get any action shots since my camera was at the house but here are some after math pictures.

    Way to go John/Great catch

Very nice fish and isn't that the first over 100 lbs from our area or at least one of the very few I have heard about. We fought one for 1 1/2 hours on Sat only to lose it at the boat when the hook pulled. It looks like the a few bigger bluefin are making their way up towards us in SJ. Again way to go John and crew.

Hey John I tried calling you on the radio out there we ended up passing you running to another spot. We found some bigger fish and marked some very very big fish.

We ended up calling in one of our buddies and they hooked up right when they got there with a nice fish. Bill may was about 5 miles away and wasn't doing anything so we ended up telling him where we were on the way in but only to have the bite stop right when he got there.

Yea I ended up taking the tuna bounty at hinches this year and i'm glad one of my buddies is too cool to weigh in a winning fish retart

We had fish cartwheeling on the flat lines which was an awesome site to watch unfold. Two of the time i was staring at the bait swimming and watched the tuna come up jump on it while i was running to the rod and everyone was looking at me like wtf than snap zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Couldn't ask for a better day on the water and first trip of the year on the Buzz Kill

Its a custom 48 ft express built by mike lure. Not sure how you spell his last name if thats right. Boat is an amazing fishing platform and runs like no other boat i've been on. 30kt cruise and tops out at alittle over 40. Trolls like a champ and with the trolling valves we have no white water at all so I can't wait to go marlin fishing.

Were installing the new electronic teaser reels and shes all set. Couldn't be happier with her
