    BFT question

How many are you guys allowed and how do you sell them? Do you have to have a comm. license? We get one once in a blue moon and I am curious.

What the nmfs brochure does not cover is the required commercial license for the states (i.e. NC)

You can sell Blufin in NC on saturday and sunday right? I read something on that site that said that fishing was prohibited saturday and sundays from Nov. 17 to Dec. 31. Maybe I read it wrong?

I think somewhere else it says that all restricted days for the remainder of the year have been waived.

In NC, commercially, you need to have the standard commercial fishing license, the General Category boat permit, and the NMFS Atrlantic Tunas permit ($28.00 good thru 31 Dec 08) on the boat w/you. All fish must be 73" CFL or over to keep/sell and the bag limit is 3 fish per boat per day.

Go here for the Fed info www.nmfspermits.com
Go here for NC state info www.ncdmf.net/license/index.html

Currently, there is no restriction on days to sell GBFT in NC.

I got off my lazy ass and walked five houses down the street to my neighbor who is the director of the nc div of marine fisheries.
