Beyond the Big Rock 3-13-07

I am new to this board ,Shane and Rick of the Second to None ( my mentors ) introduced me to this great site, so I thought I would contribute I fish out of Morehead City NC and Swansboro NC

Nobody was looking so I was able to slip out the back door of the shop for a quick trip to the stream. Got to the 90ft drop and had the lines in the water at 6:30, nothing. trolled on to the Big rock , Nothing but Alberts and Kings. SST showed a nice eddy about 11 miles south and east of the rock in 300 fathoms so we went for it . Found a 2 deg. temp break and started working it,not long and the short rigger started screaming then the long then the middle, six rods now dumping line at a fast rate . With myself and 1 green horn angler in the cockpit and the captain on the bridge we started working, 45 minutes later we had 5 of the six in the boat. We got everything cleaned up and put the lines back out and nothing, we worked that area for the rest of the day it had turned off as quick as it turned on. Made it back to the dock by 7:00 got the boat cleaned up,a 4 hour drive to Sanford and was home by 1:00 am, that was a long day. Oh well it was a great day to be fishing and the best part of it is, I will be grilling Tuna tonight.
