Have had Costa's for the last ten years, my latest are 580's, lens is decent quality but as has been said, their customer service sucks and the quality isn't what it once was. Every Costa person I know says the same thing. They'll be out of business in five years if they don't change the way they do business.

Supposedly the best polarized optics are made by Maui Jim. Never had a pair but they are suppossed to be ahead of the curve on polarization.

    All of them
Try OceanWaves. I've had Costas and OceanWaves but have been much happier with the OW. The customer service has always been good and you cant beat the optics in prescrition lenses. I'm on my third pair and they even offered to cut donw my old lenses and put them into a new frame for a spare for $65 bucks. Great company. www.oceanwaves.com

I have always been a costa fan, i have several pairs, and have not really had the customer service issues the rest of you had.

I had euro's, deep blues, havanas and some other styles.

Interestingly enough i have never gone with the "fancy" lenses. plain old blue mirrored or grey lenses. i have never had any delam problems and the only time they break is when my fat ass sits or steps on them!!

i have a pair of maui Jims that someone left on my boat one time- i use them as my going out drinking glasses, if i lose them i don't care. They would work in a pinch offshore.

I never liked Ocean Waves- they always felt cheap to me.

Oh well, to each his own. I remain a Costa fan

I broke my 2 week old pair of 580's and a friend gave me a pair of Maui Jims that he didn't need. Two years later I'm still wearing them. I do have costas as a backup but have been happy with the maui's...

I think it's a combination of not only lens quality, but also the way the frames fit my face.

Does anyone know if you can still find the Wavemaker's anywhere? I heard this style was discontinued...its a similar look to the costa triple tails.
