Scopace is the ticket. Works better than dramamine with no side effects, will even work after you start feeling a little green. Just ask your doc for a presciption. Pharmacies usually don't stock it so it may take a day or two to get the prescription filled. My dad was getting sick every trip we went on and got this stuff and hasn't felt bad since.

The only thing I have seen work well is the Sea Releif watch. Wife used to always get sick but with the watch can stay out for days. Not sure this is a good thing though .

Not sure exactly what the best preventative is for sea-sickness. I always advise land lubbers to bring along tuna fish sandwiches for two reasons: 1) I haven't yet known anybody that's sea-sick to eat a tuna fish sandwich and, 2) I love tuna fish sandwiches.

Keep the wind in your face and the horizon in view. Stay out of the cabin!

I know there are some very good prescriptions for this. I had radiation treatments a few years ago and had to take some of them. I was told some of them were designed for the space program.

Hey guys, Marezine was recommended to us by KevinOConnor's mom. So far most of the people that I know that have tried it, it's worked for. Luckily, I only need to take it the first couple of trips and than I'm fine for the season.

It is a nonprescriptive med but most pharmacies don't carry it so you would have to order it. Get the small box so that you can just try it first. As for best way to take it; one before you go to bed and one in the morning, and if you feel the need take one when you're out fishing.

The beauty of marezine was that it didn't make me drowzy or give me that drugged feeling when I woke up. I actually woke up pretty alert, which since I'm not a morning person is a pretty big deal.

    Hope this helps!

Apparently the FDA is getting ready to approve a medication that is available only by perscription that will cure any sea sickness and is being used by the military? I have no idea what it is called, but has anyone heard of this?

I was never seasick KNOCK WOOD but I started getting airsick once on an airliner. I thought I was gonna puke and started weaving my way back to the head. The stewardess took one look at me and said, "You're airsick aren't you?"

She took a wet washcloth and put some ice in it and told me to hold it at the base of the back of my neck and dam if the airsickness didn't go away within a couple minutes!

I never had a chance to try it again but it sure worked that time!

Actually, they really do that on dive boats. They will tell you to float behind the boat on a line in your drysuit or wetsuit to keep you afloat. Usually works.
