I agree, BILLFISHER are the cheapest and work fine for anything under 300lb. Use momoi or jinkai for anything over 300lbs and just match the line diameter with the crimp size.

Take a look at an aluminum chrimp after you have fished it for half a season or just fished it for a day then stored it for half the season and you will see what i mean...

with the two pieces of line touching i find that sometimes it just doesnt hold as nice as the double coppers! oh yeah and they are bronze in color and not nice shiny bright aluminum!! i prefer the copper also as i truly believe it holds up!

i got a few of those friends who leave the stuff in their boxes year after year and only re rig once in a while and the copper crimps hole up a lot better IMHO...
Here's a few close ups' of 300# Jinkai leader crimped at the connect and hook, burn the tag makie a mushroom lil extra insurance easy and it works..

Pull enough tag thru so the flame doesn't get close to the main, after you have set the crimp for correct position, then cinch down and hit with the bench crimper.

We use aluminum crimps for all of our mono and flouro rigging. We prefer aluminum because it is softer than copper and less likely to damage the leader. We use double barrel copper crimps for our multi-strand wire rigging and stainless steel crimps for our hook rigs. As for copper lasting longer than aluminum, yes, but you should be catching enough fish to change out your leaders often and not worry about it.

    Don't forget your chafe protection.

Nice info canyongear, I have used the mushroom trick too and it works slick.

I have found the opposite with copper sleeves. I had one fail too what looked like corrosion on a windon leader with the swivel crimped on. Maybe it was the swivel causing electrolysis???

    Great thread guys.
