    Best Charter operations in Cabo?

My Fiance and I are going on our Honeymoon there in July. We are going to fish one or two days. I have yet to catch a Marlin and I would love to do it down there. I know there are some shady operations and some professional ones. I would love to hear your reccomendations.

Also how is the Marlin fishing in July?

July is a great month in Cabo, marlin should be steadily increasing in numbers and you should get plenty of shots. Picante, Minervas, and Pisces are all reputable outfits. My personal choice is to fish on the boat Wild Dorado which is a 2004 36' Blackwatch FB captained by Fred Archers' old captain Meme. All new gear from Meltons' on a really fine boat. I think it's $1000 a day all inclusive, which would be a full $500 less than a Picante boat in the 35' range. They have a website at www.alluresportfishing.com . Drew

    another option

DITTO on Drew's recomendation. Omar's Blackwatch is a very good way to go. One other option would be www.checkmatefishing.com. Chuck's fleet of three boats (Bert 31, Blackfin 32 and Cabo 35) can be recomended without reservation. You may do well by mentioning Fred Archer to either of these operations. July should be a good month for the billfish. Bring sunblock and a hat, drink lots of water on the water. Have a great time. And, CONGRATZ.
How do you know it's not there if you can't see it?

Huh? A 35ft Cabo in Picante's fleet is $1185 per day.

Huh? I guess you've never been to Cabo and definitely not on the Picante fleets before. 10% tax, bait, food and drinks, marina fee, etc. It adds up quickly, that's why I said all inclusive. 4-6 people would likely be an extra $300. Huh.

edit- the other thing I noticed is the fleet pictured is of their 35's that are the '96 and the '00 models. If I'm not mistaken they have some of the new 32's available that are in the $1200+ range. The newer 35's, most of which are privately owned, are even more.

Its just going to be my Fiance and I chartering. Is it worth bucking up for the 1000 boats? or will I have as good a shot at fish on the 600 dollar boats? I really dont wanna leave Cabo until I catch a marlin.

Anyone have any good inshore panga experiences? I kinda wanted to try that too.

I'm not sure the cost of the charter is directly proportional to the chance of success. It all depends on what you're looking for by way of creature comforts. The last time I fished cabo I booked with the Pisces fleet and fished on one of their 28' uniflites. We tagged and released five billfish before noon. Four stripes and one sail. The kids and my wife had a blast. Some of the fish were taken on resin head trolling lures I made, which made it even more fun. Here's their link:

    Try this website www.gotcaughtincabo.com
The owner has two boats, A 31 bertram and a 32 Luhrs. Both boats are very clean and well maintained. Good tackle and english speaking crew.
His website has some good information about not only his boats but has general information about the entire fleet.
Have fished both boats for and have not been disapointed.
