    Best billfishing location "March"

I'm looking for a place that is pretty easily accessible, that has the best shot at billfish for March (17th-24th). I was thinking maybe Isla, but was unsure if the bite would be over by March. Thanks for the advice... Also no preference on sails or marlin...just looking for the best bite.

My vote is for Golfito, Costa Rica. That's why we are there, March is prime time. I will garrantee you fish! I will be fishing myself the last week in March, if the owner is going down to fish, you know it is good! Isla, is still good but slowing down in past years. This year who knows...it has been hot. Also, Panama. Less shots than CR but all quality fish. Feel free to give me a call I will fill you in, including our garrantee. Greg 610 306 1970

I second CR for sails that time of year... Bahamas has some pretty good marlin on the right wind...

How far by car is Golfito from San Jose international airport? It looks like a good ways by map.

Yes - typically it is good until april but the whites start moving in in late april and may. I have never been there that late but that is what I have been told.

In a car it is 6 hrs plus or minus, or you can fly either Sansa or Nature air $180-200 round trip and takes 45-50 min.. I do the drive every so often. It is not as ong as you think, because it is beautiful. But, if you in CR less than a week fly. You won't regret it!

Costa Rica is good, but Guatemala is better.
Plus that is Easter week and getting accomodations at this late date might be a problem.

March in Venezuela averages 10-15 blues seen per day. Pretty good fishing.
