Beast releases BIG Blue end of day 2 WMO 09 (PICS)

What a day the Beast had today. I stopped by and one of their guests handed me the chip out of their camera with about 20 shots, including the ones below. This blue certainly would have put up a nice weight at the scales and probably would have brought home a big check. They shared the story with me of the fish in the spread as the clock neared 3:30. At 3:29 it was hunting but had not hooked up. Finally it came tight and the crew turned to see 3:32 on the clock...less than 2 minutes too late. They fought the fish and gave it a clean release. Had she bit just 2 minutes earlier this would certainly have been a contender.

Extra credit to this crew for great sportsmanship and for this release!

Holy......... nice fish. same thing happened to my brother yesterday with a big white. while clearing the lines after the call a big white crashed a bait at 3:33. Couldn't count it but they did get a nice release and they did get two earlier.

Hi Sea Draggin, This crew has danced with some big blues before and estimated it at 700+. The guy who took the pictures has also won recent majors with two, 500lb + blues so they all have a good basis to estimate from. From the pics it looks to me like it could easily be over 700lbs.
