The bite was on fire as soon as we started in mid September with most of the fish concentrated on a small area between II & V mile reef.

Seeing there were a lot of sailies around, on our fist day out with some first timer´s we put a small pakula down the SG on a #50...surely enough within 30 mins we had a 600+ fish inhale it just to open up the small 8/0 after an hour and a half.

During this time most of our guests also took advantage of the great sailfishing, jigging and general game fishing the archipelago as to offer.

We then went through a week were bait was hard to find and although we were raising plenty of fish on the lures they were not connecting as much as we would have liked it...

...but every time we did get a live bait it would not take long for a fish to inhale it!!! Below a fish we hooked after having a 8 kilo YF bait in the water for 5 minutes just after sunrise!... and a very dissapointed angler when a good fish chewed through the 650 pound leader after eating a live skipjack.

As is usual in September and October we had daily sightings off various humpback whales, along with whale sharks, pilot whales and common, bottlenose, humpback and spinner dolphins which, as usual, were present throughout the season.

Things changed after that and the fish were eating plastic like candy and Ulrich and Frans from SA, our charter on the second week off October went 5 for 7 on lures in their first four fishing days.

    mmm, Mrs Hays.
Love the pic of the whale shark especially ! Way too cool. Looks like you had another great season. There's somewhere close by your place where you can have a shot at sails from the shore, isn't that right ?
