Barta Tournament To Air on Versus Network on February 11, 2011

2010 Barta Tournament airing on Versus Network Pop the popcorn or set your DVD, "The Best and Worst of Tred Barta" TV show featuring the 2010 Barta Boys & Girls Club Billfish Tournament is going to premier on Friday, February 11, 2010 at 10pm EST on our wonderful sponsors channel VERSUS Network. This should be a great show not only featuring the tournament, the kids, Carteret County and Beaufort but it will also show the fantastic rescue of the Reel Time family and friends who’s boat sank during the tournament. With the help of an ACR Epirb (another wonderful sponsors of the tournament), the Navy and the Coast Guard eight amazing people may not have come home that Friday morning.

If you attended the 2010 tournament you saw a few camera men walking around, going on and off boats at the town docks and wondered what they were doing...they were filming a segment of Tred's "The Best and Worst of Tred Barta" TV shows. The show, which will air on Versus Network at 10pm EST will include the tournament, kids fishing the tournament, and the dramatic rescue of the Reel Time family and friends after the boat sank during the tournament. "This is an exciting show that has something for everyone," said Tred. "We are glad we are able not only to promote the tournament but also promote the amazing fishing off the coast of North Carolina and give people who have not been at the tournament a glimpse of what happens during the weekend in Beaufort.




Tournament Update:
The board of directors knows how hard it is for boats under 40ft to enter a tournament prior to looking at a weather forecast. This is especially true when the entry fee is substantial and if the weather is bad sometimes there is no way they can fish. To help out those boats again this year, we are offering a reduced entry fee of $500 for the first 20 boats to sign up. On Thursday evening at the Captains Party, Tred will pull one of these 20 boat registrations and they will receive their $500 entry fee back and fish the tournament for free. This is better than the lottery 1 in 20 chance. It also allows you to secure a slip at the Beaufort Town docks and they sell out every year.

We already have 2 boats signed up and when we hit 20 this Early Bird Special will end so sign up now. The wonderful thing about this tournament is even if the weather is not good you can fish inshore or off the dock and your kids will still be able to weigh a fish in and receive a trophy.
