"Very little that Tred has said or written over the years has failed to blow my mind." So true, and I've known him since many many decades ago as youngsters on the docks in New Jersey. He has always been controversial as all get out, but he truly is a unique, vastly interesting and enormously entertaining guy...and a helluva fisherman, especially for bigeyes in the old days. His efforts for kids have been heavy duty and his fight against the terrible luck he has had healthwise has been a thing of wonder and inspiration to me.
To me, Tred is one of those oh-so-rare, "Walk the walk" guys who is completely entitled to "Talk the talk", whether I agree with him or not. There aren't many of those, but Tred sure as hell is one of them.
I'd love to see what Tred had to see about that big dorado of Dennis'. Dennis happens to also be a good friend on long standing. He's a very small guy, so fish held up by him tend to look huge, but even so, that fish looked like a monsta to me. How heavy? I dunno. I always reserve judgement on the weights of photo fish because camera angles, etc., can really deceive the eye.
Bert...What did Tred say about that fish???

He said it was weighed on a scale and someone called out 60. Tred and Dennis ignored it cause they thought the caller meant 60 pounds. Later they realised they weighmaster meant 60 KG. Makes it like a 130 or so I guess.

Tred Barta "That fish wieghed 60 kg not 60 pounds! That translates to 134 pound,4.43 oz-and five inches of the fish's tail was resting on the ground while being wieghed!"
Evidently Tred was aboard the boat on the trip.

How cool would it be to have the unofficial world record dolphin hanging in your living room...talk about a pretty mount!
Did it look something like this? We caught this on a live skipjack in PV way back. Never weighed it, but Caldo is 5'10" for perspective.
