    Bahamas Trip/Big Marlin

    Hello all---
I don't really post on here but read often and thought you all would enjoy these pics of my girlfriend and I's trip to the Bahamas last May. We rented a 19 foot cc and fished everyday, just the two of us. The highlights of the trip were my girl catching what we estimated to be a 60lb Mahi and the loss of a 500+ pound Blue Marlin. We caught a few additional Marlin, some nice grouper, and nice Jacks among others. When we caught the big Mahi, my girl was clearing one of the lines as I had a nice 20+ lb Mahi hooked, which jumped into the boat and bounced off the center console. It got away, but she hooked and landed the giant with the rod in hand. The picture doesn't do the fish justice, it was bent nearly in half to get it in the ice box. Be sure to check page 2 on the website, plenty of cool pictures there as well......MATT

It was laid across the boat. Just 20 minutes earlier we caught the big dolphin. It was a 20 minutes battle, the fish was tangled in a teaser line, the gaff broke (in half), and another boat came over and gaffed the fish after seeing our gaff break. It was as tired as I have ever been, and just minutes after re-setting the lines we hooked up this small marlin, which I fought, leadered, and landed all solo. It was brutal, but fun. 6 straight days of all day trolling as captain, mate and angler can do a number on a man (my girlfriend was mainly concerned about getting sun). I needed to bring that marlin on board for a brief second to re-group, and get a photo or two....
