This is the reply I got for spearfishing. I guess since I am flying in I can spearfish from shore. Don't know exactly what we are going to do while on the boat since it is Bahamian registry.
The sportsfishing permit is only needed by persons using a foreign owned vessel, or by foreign persons using a Bahamian vessel. You do not need a permit to use a pole spear if you are not using a boat. Spearfishing is restricted in the zone from the shoreline out to two hundred (200) yards in Family Islands and within one (1 ml.) mile of the coast of New Providence. Michael T. Braynen Director of Marine Resources Department of Fisheries P. O. Box N 3028 Nassau, Bahamas Tel 242-393-1777 Fax 242-393-0238 Again not a lot of guidance and as far as the enforcement goes don't know much there either. |

You can fly it out just don't put it on your boat in filleted condition...
I have played the games for a long time. I had some fillet aboard comming home a few years ago. A fwc guy saw my quarantine flag indicating I was fresh back from the islands. Little smart ass tried to board... Luckily I know some tricks and went Deep on him. "PUt one foot on my f*****g boat and I will take you down, blend you to my deck, cuff you and place you under arrest myself..." "You can't do that!" "Try me sparky... You see that flag? You know what it means otherwise you wouldn't want to check me. SInce you're that f*****g smart you also know that right now I'm property of United States Customs and until they clear me nobody comes or goes off this boat! You're welcome to wait a few hours til they clear me..." He was pissed but he knew I had him dead to rights. I don't tote fillet anymore... ![]()

Where are you headed? How are you getting there? Got any room for a small chest freezer to either bimini or chub?

So maybe this is a dumb question?
Can the entire catch on the return flight all be in one cooler if there is more than one person going? Say there are three going on a multi day trip. How much could we bring back? I need to know how big of a cooler to bring 3 full days fishing, 3 days limit of fish per person??? Do we need a note from Juan Epsteins mom saying I was fishin for three days Thanks for the help

You can stuff it all in one coffin sized cooler. Your group technically can return with 60lbs of bottom fish fillet along with 18 pelagics... I would think you might agree that is more than you can carry... I'd bring a 40-50 quart cooler and I have another 18 or 27 if you need it...
