The Offshore fishing has been outstanding to say the least. The big story is the amount of Mahi Mahi that are in the area. This time of the year always brings a lot of Mahi's but this year seems to be the most I can ever remember. You've got to love them because they will eat almost anything you have, and if you miss the hook set the first time, they give you a few more chances unlike almost any other species of fish. The tuna fishing is starting to really pick up. Yesterday with the Fuimano gang we were hand feeding them right next to the boat. The biggest problem that we had was not enough line out, because when they would hit it, the fish would take off and the hook would come flying back at you if it didn't sink which we did manage to do several times. With the seas flat calm we could see down what looked to be about 100ft. cobalt blue water. It was like a huge aquarium yesterday. I don't see this very often but at one point underneath the boat we had bonita, Yellow fin tuna, sharks, jack crevalle (unusual where we were),barracudas, and mahi-mahi. The bonita and tuna were eating our chunks, the barracudas and sharks were trying to eat the bonita, the tuna were just trying to get some food before the bonita, the jack fish looked like they didn't know where they were, and the dolphin were swimming around the boat with plugs being thrown at their heads. Just about everyone on the boat was in panic mode trying to get a bait to the tuna and dophin. It was a very awesome sight to see. By the way the cudas and sharks had no luck at catching anything. They looked more like they were trying to cross a busy highway. The weather has been as good as it gets, Flat Calm which you wil see from some of the pics that are posted. We had the 6 different groups the past 4 days between Capt. Bob and myself. All of the trips were about the same resulting in 8-10 bull dolphin and a few tuna. Capt. Bob had the big haul on Sunday with 14 tuna and 5 dolphin. The weather looks great for the rest of the week...finally. The tuna fishing will only get better. Everything offshore as far as rips, bait, fish, is clicking right now. We still have open dates in July and August. If you want in on the action give us a call.
