AVET CLICKER SYSTEM?

Seriously, whoever made the Avet clicker system should be shot. I sit their and just stare at it and wonder what was going through their head when it was designed. I was taking apart some gear and looking over the (1) Avet that we do own (did not pay for it, I won it, THANKS Glenn!) and was just amazed. Im not talking about the quality of the reel, just the clicker. I officially retired it to Rockfish status and will be now used to pull umbrella rigs during Spring Trophy charters. I cannot handle that clicker in my pit, it pisses me off all day. Im 6'4 220, I dont have the hands of a 19year old, Asian rub and tug artist who im sure could fit their pretty little fingers on that pee hole clicker button.

Thats all I have to say today.

Karl

i think they have updated the clicker system after complaints of it not being loud enough on some models. ive never fished an Avet so i dont really know but am constantly drooling over their stuff and reading about them.

Just received 3 new EXW 4/O's two weeks ago. No changes to the clickers. The 50's have a decent clicker knob but could be a bit stiffer on the clicker spring. It's a shame about the clickers on the 4/O's cause other than this one very aggrevating detail, I personally think they are the best 30lb reels out there considering quality, capacity, weight, and price. If I had the gumption I'd take mine to a machine shop and get a decent knob made for a few bucks.

A bit stiff!!!! Glenn that is like telling me that a fat lady is heavy. I can't flip this thing to save my life. As Karl said it is a shame that they could destroy such a decent reel with an inept clicker system. I wish it were not the case because I prefer the reel to the Penn reels but can't live with that little button.

That's what I get for being polite--- OK, you're right---the CLICKER FU_KING SUCKS GUYS.
BTW, most large women prefer to be called full figured or fluffy-- still a fat bitch, no matter how you slice it

I WISH THE CLICKERS WERE 4 INCHES LONG ON ALL REELS MYSELF JUST WAIT TIL YA TURN 55 KARL......THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AT A DISADVANTAGE WITH OLD THUMBS

AND YOU WONDER WHY COMPANIES LIKE AVET STAY AWAY FROM THE NTERNET

THEY SHOULD BE HERE READING...EYES WIDE OPEN...LEARNING....QUALITY CONTROL...BETTER R&D

Yeah, everyone has likes and dislikes about thoes reels, most like the price for the quality of that reel..I for one hated the clicker and instead went with Tiagra 50's...5 years ago....been loving them ever since.

I'm a young'un and have small hands. Still the clicker knob on the 50 irritates the Krap out of me. Must've made it small to shave a little weight... haha. It is loud enough but the person who designed the knob needs to be shot... twice. .... I like the one on the Tiagras. You know if its on or off from 10 feet away.
