Heading to Aruba the first week of April for about ten days. Never been there before. Seeking info on charters. Been on line to scope some out but would like first hand info from someone on who would be be a good boat to go out on. Thanks.

Hot P, I was in Aruba several years ago with my family on vacation, and out of boredom of the Beach I took my wife and kids out on a Local Charter Boat for the day. I don't remember the name of the Boat or Capt. ( Capt. Monty I think) and boy what a mistake that was. We rode around and got our ass kicked all day once we stuck our noses out past the end of the Island and never got one bite !! Not even a Cuda or nothin !! The tackle was pitiful and the baits were probably weeks old !! I would make sure that you check the Boat out before you pony up the money to go on a Local Boat there. JMO!! GOOD LUCK & BEWARE !!

I have been to Aruba twice & have had so so luck on the boats downtown. caught 1 small tuna & 1 small cuda on first trip, second trip caught a couple of wahoo 20-30 pounds. Always rough in Aruba. A good friend of mine dives alot there & the boats south of the airport are much better quality etc. I will email him for the name of the boat he has had good experience with & post a reply later. I am going to be in Aruba 3rd week of March & will probably charter a boat then.
