Anyone Sharking this weekend out of OCNJ or area?

We are planning on going sunday if the weather looks right. Is anyone willing to offer up an opinion on a place to set up. If its Mako where, and if it is thresher where? We will fish for either. Home port we leave from is Great Egg Inlet. Anyone???

We are heading out on sun, Plan is to target Makos so we are going to run further out than we would if targeting whip tails. If we can get a sat chart, we will be lookin for mid 60's water with good bottom structure out around the 28 mile wreck, deep water reef, hooper. We will be leaving from Sea Isle area.

Threshers have been caught 2 miles off the beach down here chasing the bunker schools. We wouldn't be running far if targeting them this weekend.

    Good Luck Tim

    BlueH20boss,
If you looking for threshers, try any of the reefs, chum drift right down the middle. If you can live line a sea bass or small bluefish. If there are threshers feeding on the reef, they will find you. If your looking for makos go further, at least to the AC Ridge, 28 Mile Wreck or Cigar. Troll on your way in, if you hook up some bluefish, that might be as good a place as any to start. Sorry we are not fishing this weekend or I would give you a yell on the radio.

Thanks a lot for the info so far guys. I am getting pretty excited to mate my first shark trip of the year. Anyone else heading out? And what do you think will be more likely, a thresher inshore, or mako further out? Seems to me that threshers seem to be more frequent at the scales. Anyone heading out Sunday give us a ring ... Reel Deal on 68. Good luck to everyone

Blue, From reports: Threshers are closer but I believe not many guys have pushed off due to weather further off shore to target mako's. Pretty sure we will be targeting makos. I'm not sure the name of my buddies boat, I'll try to give you a shout, I'll just use my screen name fishbiz when I hail you. Good Luck and Tight lines Tim
