Anyone liking NEW TORSA????

im thinkin about getting one, would be an awesome reel for me for pier fishing

for kings, cobia, tarpon , etc.

a small reel, with beeeeeeffyyy drags, able to throw, with cranking power like no other.....

sounds perfect to me .

BUT

i want your opinions. i love using a small reel, and i would love to have one with strong enuf drag, a lever drag system, lightweight, and super powered. i think shimano did it.

what do you all think???????? i think it will change how we fish!

Jesse,
On another subject, what are you catching the trout on off the beach? I might head down to Atlantic beach this afternoon and try to catch something over by the coast guard station or rock jetty.
Thanks.

I think at almost $700 I'll stick with what I have now LOL.....

Probably a great reel, and I do drool at the ads for them, but damn...... doesn't fit intomy budget yet.

Why don't they just and get it over with? LOL

not independantly wealthy, i independantly work my ass off during the "off-season"

the folks got some $$$$, but im not gonna ask them for loads of cash all the time like a bum. would rather work for it, that way its MINE.

i have been catching trout on mirrolures, and ,,, i dont know if i wanna say the second lure.. but ok.

GULP SHRIMP! berkleys new GULP! series is the best new plastics in the world. they work better then live bait.

you hardly even have to jig them
most of the time, i just let them sit on the bottom, and drag them reallllyyy slowwww and i ALWAYS catch trout drum and flounder on them.

they work insanely good!

A friend of mine bought one 2 months ago and for as much talking he did about how great IT WAS GOING TO BE, he isnt doing that much talking anymoe. I know he was having trouble with that "rapid fire" quick change drag. The spring kept coming out or something. Trinidads, Toriums, and some Avets have faster ratios.

I used a couple of Northeast Angling's Toriums (Shimano is one of their sponsors) while trolling for SBFT and I liked the smoothness of the reels.....nice.

i used them here in nc a week ago.

a guy i know bought two of the 30's and has them on all-roller med-hvy shortstrokers.

he just got em, and wanted to test em.

so we went behind a shrimp boat that was dumping by-catch. and tossed out some big bunker, and it only takes a second to hook up with a big 7-8 ft shark.

had a BLAST doing that on them reels.

smooth as silk, and never skipped a beat. i loved em, and was sold after the first fish was brought to the boat and cut loose.

cant wait to get one of my own! expensive little bastards though lol (the reels that is)
