Mike,
You were smart.. we got our teeth knocked out most of the way but felt pot committed so stuck it out. the wind was blowing 15 plus once we got about 3 miles off and the seas climbed to 5-6....so much for the 10kts or less 1-3ft prediction. It was weird because the bay was flat calm as was the inlet...We made 21-22 knots the whole way out but we ran 77 miles without an autopilot and my forearms were dead when we got there! Set up by 7pm and drifted the deep of the spencer with about 3 other boats.....not a touch all night....AGAIN......And one in our crew was sick as a dog so we ran him in at 2am. what a shitty night. The canyon was dead again and that is it for me..stick a fork in it cause the canyons are done for the year for us NJ guys in my opinion. Hopefully the stripers are thick this year. We also dumped ice on the way in to save fuel and have more melting in the boat
