I was out fishing the Massey's Canyon about a month ago during weather conditions that were worse then predicted. Everyone on the radio hadn't seen a fish all day. One boat reported they had four overnight trips in a row with no fish. We managed to raise to mahi in the 50 pound range and one wahoo probably about 30 pounds but all of them spit the hook at the boat before they could be gaffed. It was incredibly frustrating. Anyone have any tips for preventing this or was it just dumb luck?

. Kinda ended pretty shitty but the good news is there was also propeller damage to the boat so the insurance is covering the repairs
. So hopefully next season all will be well and we'll be at it again to get those pesky palegics!
