Anybody know who won the Viking vs Ocean tourney at SJ marina?

I was trying to find out who won. I was supposed to fish it but again work got in the way. I can't seem to get a hold of anyone I was to be fishing with.

    Ocean vs. Viking results

Ocean won it over Viking on the Second Day.

I was lucky enough to be invited to fish this w/the Infiltrator (40 Ocean) on B Dock @ Canyon Club. Awesome family and they raise fish.

The weekend was actually pretty quiet when it came to whites, I believe they're were only 22 released but the blues were 6 releases! No wahoos were caught, but the tuna category was won w/a 140 Big Eye on Top Notch. Fantasea actually had a Mako that hit their dink and they boated the 177 lbr on Friday! Second day they had two releases. Reel Gusto had the mahi category going into Saturday w/ a 30?? lbr (not positive on size), but I believe the 74 Viking took that.

Sorry for the sketchy report (I might be off on the exact lbs), I'll get the details together for you later.

Stripersniper, ashame that you couldn't make it, even though the fishing was a little slow for most its still a great event. Laid back tourney that everyone seems to enjoy, also a great family event!

Thank you to the Starns for having me along!

Lady Angler, thanks for the report.

Barry, It's been tough to get out and this week's temps aren't going to make it easier. Since when has Air conditioning become such a necessity???

I fished at the East Wall of the Wilmington on Friday and went 1 for 1 on the whites. Water was pretty and about 77.5. Lots of life just not a lot of fish. We won the Lady Angler billfish award. (Current Affair) We ended up not even fishing the second day. It was a slow tournament...hopefully it picks up a little. I was able to meet a lot of good people at the canyon club during the tournament.

I was cleaning up my boat when the bigeye came in on Top Notch. Nice fish. Their wasnt much else at SJ that I saw and not alot of flags flying. Beautiful day though.Need to get out this week. Looking like a few clear days. Good luck. Capt Larry

Predator, great to hear you guys released a white! I know that we had a father and son from your crew stop in on Thursday, was that you??

Unfortunately, no whites for us (we were also in the Wilmington), but we brought some mahi home for the grill. We did see some life out there though on Saturday; the NOAA research vessel was following those pilot whales, and we did see a bait ball of squid that had a white that we just couldn't entice away from there.
