About 20 years ago when dad started the boat at bahia one time we had our exhaust "explode." If diesels could backfire thats how i would have described it. Best I can figure there was a sewer drain behind our boat and someone must have dumped something combustible down it, and the wind and tide ws right for it to go up our exhaust. Anyhow, my dad, and his co capt and the time, Jay Champlin (Blaine's dad), stuffed a fighting chair cover over the hole, and they kept ahead of the water with a borrowed pump from the OCVFD until Mike hastings made a proper sized plug.

On a side note, I have Capt. Larry's throwable PFD (ring buoy or whatever you want to call it). Found it floating out there today.
Funny you mentioned exhaust. I was just telling Kurt that as fast as it went down, I bet they blew an exhuast. Anyway, its not right to speculate. Thank God nobody got hurt.

I know that there are some pictures over on Facebook that show the boat being refloated and towed.

Capt- well done keeping the charter calm and safe; anything you can buy CAN be replace- people's lives can't be bought!

Once again, well done-

Didnt this boat have tower, hardtop, flybridge? I could see if they cut off the hardtop, but what happened to the flybridge? Or is this a differenet boat?

i would imagine the pressure of her going under could have separated the flybridge from the house...

Always Late is a 48' Ocean bridge boat and did not have a tower on her !!! it really sucks that Larry has to deal with this but the main thing is that everyone got home SAFE !!!
