Not so glad that somewhere along the line my boat got confused with the Always Late- my cellphone has many people calling to make sure we were ok- and since I was out fishing it went straight to voicemail..... and my charter for tomorrow was very relieved to see us, since some random guy they gave a jumpstart to in OC today spied their Last Call Sweatshirt, and told them we sunk!!!

Gotta love the rumor mill.
Wasn't the Last Call in a similar situation several years ago though Frankie? Not sure where or when but I remember someone telling me your boat had sunk or almost sunk at one time. Again, this is coming to me 2nd hand so don't know if true or not.

Nope, the last call has never been in danger of sinking in open water.

About 20 years ago when dad started the boat at bahia one time we had our exhaust "explode." If diesels could backfire thats how i would have described it. Best I can figure there was a sewer drain behind our boat and someone must have dumped something combustible down it, and the wind and tide ws right for it to go up our exhaust. Anyhow, my dad, and his co capt and the time, Jay Champlin (Blaine's dad), stuffed a fighting chair cover over the hole, and they kept ahead of the water with a borrowed pump from the OCVFD until Mike hastings made a proper sized plug.

On a side note, I have Capt. Larry's throwable PFD (ring buoy or whatever you want to call it). Found it floating out there today.

Yep

We only fish in a 23ft boat but I take my son out (7yr old) a lot with me and a life raft is one of the things that was a must to have once we started fishing a lot offshore.... Never know when something is going to happen.. Glad everyone is safe and all is well!!!

what we are sinkin ..holy @$&^

owner/capt/crew......everyone can put in their opinions......well you guys experienced a situation that no one ever wants to experience........and in reading posts here......no doubt.......

you guys aboard and others came to your distress. ....i salute you.....

Hatts off to capt/crew-mates/ and even the charter party...also Marli and the other boats along with the CG..........

nice to step on the dock and hug a love one or fellow fisherman after an ordeal like that..........

boats/rigs & tackle can be replaced......rarely that mother nature or Poseidon once in the grasp releases.....

to better days offshore.....may the only water you experience be from backing down on a beast
