I have or do manufacture a lot of the other brands mentioned throughout this thread. The flat truth of what I found to work best was just laid out... Varying sea conditions, boat fish raising capabilities, local bait etc have a lot of impact as for the fine tuning. Exactly where to run the baits at what speed and slight variations of design can only be determined on a boat/day by boat/day basis.

Deep C, i think i have picked up some of your lures on ebay. They are nice. . . really nice. Top quality and I can attest to the fact they catch fish. I really like the little mambas, made a bar out of them that tore the hell out of tuna but unfortunately got cut off last year when I had it WWTFB for some bft. . .i will keep the offending boats name a secret, needless to say i was not happy.

    Heavy Tackle:
Shotgun/ Mousetrap- Black Bart Super Pro Jet or Pakula Rat
Right Long- Black Bart Kona Tube
Left Long- Black Bart Hawaiian Breakfast or Top Gun Spinning Head with angled face
Right Short- Black Bart Brazilliano (light version)
Left Short- Black Bart Zulu or Abaco Prowler, or a plunger lure

    Medium Tackle:
Shotgun/ Mousetrap- St. Thomas or Tahitian Prowler
    Right Long- Black Bart RPP
Left Long- Black Bart Mini 1656 Angled
Right Short- Black Bart 1656 Angled
Left Short- Black Bart Hot Breakfast

Plastic pitch baits- Moldcraft Thingum or Chugger

I'm a little biased towards the Black Bart stuff because that is what I am most familiar with. I really like to fish with the handmade stuff (even started to make my own), but I don't have as much trolling time with other lure makers products.

And would only add a Moldcraft Wide Range. But we do like our Black Barts.

    marling spread

I've only been fishing for them for one season, but what I found to be successfull was:

Long Rigger- Senior Mold Craft Wide Range, Purple over pink
Long Rigger- Senior Mold Craft Wide Range, Purple and clear over fire
Short Rigger- Senior Mold Craft Super Chugger, Purlple and clear over black
Short Rigger- Black Bart 1656 angle- skipjack colors with purple black and white
Flat Line- Blue and White Islander and horse bally
Flat Line- Black bart Hot Breakfast, black foil over rainbow

As you can see I'm pretty much a moldcraft kind of guy. They run nice fishing from a small center console. Most trips we troll for tuna and only put out marlin lures when we're done tuna fishing. In maybe 8 hours of trolling a marlin spread this year, we hooked four and landed two, which isn't bad for the northeast canyons. This one ate purple over pink wide range on our last trip of the year. 124" straight length jaw to fork.
