Hey guys we hooked this 400 plus LB off the west coast of Africa. It took 2 plus hrs to bring him in.

He was hooked at a spot where on the previous weekend I lost a lure in a Marlin when the line was cut by the propeller.

The strangest part of the story was that on Sunday a friend of mine went to the same spot and hooked into another Marlin and while fighting him the Marlin I lost my lure in came to surface and tried to throw the hook.

Welcome to the site and nice blue. What part of West Africa do you fish?

You might have underestimated the size of that fish. By the looks of it in that pic it looks closer to 600lbs. Pretty work!!

I'm not sure what the exchange rate is in Africa, but that looks to be better than 400! Nice fish!

Congratulations on that fish Brian. You're a very good student.

I agree that it's closer to 600lb's. Brian is 6'4" 330lbs to give you an idea of scale. Here's a better picture:

Pretty work. Like the rest of the crew here, I would like to hear more about where you were fishing, what else you saw there, ect. I for one am very eager to learn more about Africa's fishing. Several other post here have got my curiosity up.
