Just tried to charge us 950$ to put a 3 foot piece of plastic pipe in, cut 4 2x4 's and conect to another pipe. Cap off one sink line as we already capped off the one witch took about 5 minutes.

What about 20 bucks in plastic pipe and fitting?? and about 2 hours in labor.

Did plumber rate suddenly change to about 400 a hour??
Am I wrong and this was a good price ?

I think my butt is still soar.

Sad part is when the guy who was here said the office does the price and he really felt it was off base. Guess they will now go find another person to make a large buck off of.

Sheesh...sounds like Action Plumbing definitely did take care of your plumbing!!

That's the trouble these days:

1) Impossible to find someone to do work...
2) Who does good work
3) and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for it.

That's why i do pretty much everything myself from the brakes on my Audi, right down to coolant and raw water impellar changes on the CAT 3126's. Hell if i had a manual to adjust the valves i would do it myself.

EDIT: Now that i saw the pic...hell...i could have done that for you and i would have charged like $200 max haha

How thick was the pipe they tried to stick in your arse ?? Was that addition and did you at least get a warm up kiss or lube....

I hope he atleast gave you a reach around!! Cause he just broke it off in you!!! I could maybe see a 150-200 bucks,cause most of them have a straight up fee for showing up,and then labor by the hour,but 950 bucks,I would have had to tote an ass whooping before I paid that

I was here and through him out of the house. So the job is not done.

On top of the 950$ they then wanted 1,250.00 to come back and put 2 water lines up to the new sink and hook up the drain pipe. So total job was over 2 grand. I would imagine you would need a bank loan to use these guys to plumb a new house.

Plumbers around here charge 60-90 per hour. If you need help, maybe I can sneak to NJ and help ya.........no charge, only materials and you can pick them up from Home Depot.
