Hello from Salina Point Bahamas! This is our first year of bluewater fishing (we are primarily a bonefish operation) and things are quite active for nice wahoo, yellowfin and dolphin...with some sails and small marlin raised/jumped. We fish around Castle Island and Mir Por Vos Cays. The dolphin are mostly in small schools of large fish right now, but as the water warms into March we see larger schools. The wahoo are averaging between 40 and 70 pounds with some close to 100. The tuna are mostly running between 15 and 40 pounds but also get larger later in the spring. This is perhaps the remotest section of the Bahamas, we have seen one other sport fishing boat in three years!
Here are pictures from last week. This first wahoo was the smaller of a double hooked up near Castle Island, the other was close to 100 pounds...but fed the sharks.
Thanks guys. If anyone wants to come down we can be reached at 242 344 3665 through May or bergquist00@aol.com. We do have two weeks open in late May for three-four guys per week at $1975 each.
