ID:	212126 interested in deep drop fishing. Here in New Jersey I'm going to be searching out Tilefish locations. I was considering buying a Tanacom Bull 750 or 1000 but heard from a few people that the Daiwa repair center will not repair any electric reels that come from Japan. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

I just purchased a Kristal XL621 because I heard that they are super reels, albeit very expensive. I managed to buy the slightly used, in very good condition, for $840. I'm still looking for a second reel.

Also, is the swivel tip necessary? I've rigged two of my Penn International 11, 50lb to 100lb, offshore rods all with aftco guides but I'm reluctant to change the aftco roller tip to a swivel tip. What do you think about that?

    love the 1000 bull..

simple easy, stops, has a handle, great drag, again easy to use and strong. uses no power to speak of and is also light enough with a short bent butt reel to not give you a hernia .. 4 years running them now..

Also had ours for 4 years. Was iffy at first, as I wanted Kristal's, but they've been great. We've caught a few big grouper and AJ's with them and blew out the levelwind on one with way too much drag, and Daiwa fixes them for cheap in a couple weeks. Good, quick service.

The auto-stop feature is great, flip the lever up and the angler doesn't have to pay attention until it beeps. No more blown out tops from jerking the swivel through. We just got dedicated rods for them, but we were using all roller rods without a swivel tip for a long time with no issues.
