    7-8 Lumpy Bottom Report

Made it out yesterday Fought all over fish for 2 hours till we decided on the right one to take about 56/57’’ couldn’t find any under fish. All on the chunk with deep rigs had 5 big mystery fish bites that decided to take the 80TW for a ride and not look back 1 was probably a shark. Lots of Big Dusky’s lurking also.

Thanks for the report. Did you have much company and were most chunking? Have any idea how deep your rigs were?

3 boats besides us, everyone else was on the troll. We only made 3 long drifts across the whole lump and that was it.

Everything was big and all but 2 hit on weighted squid and butter fish in 50-70' range coming up the lumps from 120'-85' and back down the other side. The non weighted butterfish did get hit twice with large mystery fish.

We got the scene around 9:30 and were gone by 12:30.

Not telling anyone how to fish but the proper etiquette has always been to hold off on chunking until after the Tuna Tourney which is this weekend. Congrats on your fish.

Congrats. Nice fish. Probably going to do the same this weekend. If you don't mind me asking, were you using flourocarbon leaders? Length and test?

    Thanks for the report.

Flouro, 6'-8' +/-, 50/60lb. The fish were not shy at all, we sent one line out in a hurry kinda of sloppy and that one got pounded immediately as well.
