Chunked @ the 24 fa. lump on Friday and went 2 for 4 on BFT (110 & 130) and got bit off by a Hoo 10' behind the boat. All our bites were on float lines using 40 lb flouro. The 130 fish came up tail wrapped twice but with some hard backing down & a quick mate we stuck the bugger.
Went to the same spot on Sat. and went 1 for 3 on BFT (70). All out bites on this day were on the bottom using 50 lb flouro. Ran out to the Washington and trolled from 1:00 to 2:45. Landed on 40 lb YFT, broke one similar size off at the boat, had a hard run that never came tight, a few small dolphin and a white in the baits that wouldn't eat.
One final thought. After years of using Sufix, I switched to Momoi Diamond Hi-vis blue this year and hate the stuff! Never saw a line that glows under water like this does, looks like a lit-up white. The hi-vis yellow is not nearly as visible under water as this blue stuff. Almost as bad as that is the fact you CAN'T see the blue when your trolling, clear line is easier to see frow the riggers than this stuff. I have never seen any difference in chunking bites when mixing rods that have hi-vis yellow and quatro, both seem to get bit the same. However, Friday the water was real clear and ALL of our bites came on the one rod with quatro, even though everything else was the same. Saturday 2 out of the 3 came on hi-vis yellow. Thats all I needed to see, the blue will make it out this week yet but then the old tried and true Sufix is going back on. Really glad I picked-up that line spooler on ebay for 75.00 this spring!
