We decided to fish the 30 Line a little farther North than everyone else since the prior week we struck out at the Trunk.

Left LEI at about 230am and had lines in the water just inside the 30 line about 5:30

We trolled around the 30 into a little deeper. Jumped off a 15# mahi. Then about 15 min. later we put a 20# in the box. From the radio chatter the bite seemed better south so we headed that direction and slightly inshore. Water looked better where we were so we looped back up.

Around 1pm we had an explosion on a WWWWWB line. Looked like a white cap wave at first. Missed. Then it came back around and mashed it again this time popping the clip but not sinking the steel. 90% sure it wasn't a Mahi. Looked like a giant frothy tuna "hole" they make on a lure.

We boxed another 15# Mahi around 2pm and called it a day.

Seemed like there were some fish caught to the south but where we were was DEFINITELY good water and i wouldn't hesitate twice to check it out again.
